# vetted.tools

Our own product. A directory of AI tools, a library of use cases with the prompt attached, a weekly brief and a readiness assessment, on a brand we drew for it.

Our own product: a directory of AI tools, a library of use cases with the exact prompt attached, a weekly brief and a free readiness assessment. We drew the brand, built the pipeline that keeps it current, and rebuilt the whole of it in rounds.

## What was delivered

### Brand system

- The stamp and the seal (live): A coral stamp for the mark and the favicon, and a seal pressed only on tools that run in a published use case.
- The pen (live): Three hands drawn as outlines: blue for the editor, green for facts, coral for the turn.
- Vetty (live): A coral asterisk with legs that stands beside things that turned out to be true, and talks when you click it.
- The brand guideline (live): One file of rules every page is checked against, from the type scale to where grain may go.

### Directory and use cases

- The tool directory (live): Every tool filed in a category folder, with what it costs and how technical it is.
- The use-case library (live): Each workflow written up after it ran on real work, with the exact prompt to paste.

### Content pipeline

- The nightly directory snapshot (live): Every night a job copies the directory's rows into the repo when they change, so a build still runs when the database doesn't answer.
- The weekly brief (live): Five to seven links every Friday, each with what to do about it.
- Linear-driven lanes (live): Each change starts as a Linear ticket and runs in its own lane on its own branch, merged after review.
- The same pipeline as aayushmanchanda.com (live): Pages here are drafted by agents on it, then read and approved by a person on our team before they publish.

### Web app

- Search on ⌘K (live): Every tool, use case and page, one keystroke from any page.
- An MCP endpoint (live): A read-only endpoint an AI client can query for the directory, with no key and no session.
- The readiness assessment (live): Twelve questions, and a free score with the three things to fix first.
- Free tools (live): Small tools that run in your browser, and none needs an AI account.
- The activity feed (live): Every page as it's read, and every release as it ships.
- The footer field (live): Something down there moves when nobody's looking.

## Before and after

| Section | Before | After |
| --- | --- | --- |
| The homepage | No before. Nothing was replaced. | The vetted.tools homepage. The coral stamp and the vetted.tools wordmark sit at the left of a bar carrying Library, Consulting, Updates and Contact, a command K key and a blue 'Free assessment' button. The headline reads 'We build AI systems for businesses, and publish what works.' over a line naming vetted as an AI transformation and AI engineering practice for owner-run businesses, a blue 'See what we do' button and a 'Take the assessment' button. At the right, on a pale blue panel, a yellow note labelled 'Example ad' reads 'AI that runs your whole business. Overnight!' with the last word circled in red, beside a browser card at vetted.tools/tools where Claude is ticked and noted 'tried in 10 use cases', with Vetty, a red asterisk with eyes, standing below it. The 'What we do' band starts underneath with three sample cards: a roadmap, a process and a booking portal. |
| The tool directory | No before. Nothing was replaced. | The vetted.tools directory. Under the heading 'Tools', a row of category folders, each in its own colour with its first tools' logos peeking out, reads AI Agents 27 tools, Development 18, Content Creation 15, Sales & Marketing 10, Analytics 8, Automation 8, Image Generation 6 and Research 6, with an arrow to scroll on. Below sit four featured cards for ChatGPT, Claude Code, Hermes Agent and Is Agentic, then 'All tools' with price, platform, level and Public API filters, a count of 78 tools, and rows for Claude, ChatGPT, Jev and Claude Code with their categories. |
| A use case | No before. Nothing was replaced. | The use case 'Answer every Google review without sounding like a template' at its diagram. On a pale blue band with a dot grid, the heading 'How it runs, start to finish.' sits over four steps joined by arrows: Business profile, written once, and New reviews, oldest bad first, both feed a Reply prompt run in Claude or ChatGPT, which gives Two drafts about the visit, and You publish, after reading. Pen notes read 'the bit that does the work' over the prompt and 'you, every time' under the last step, above the four steps written out and the line 'Illustrative, the tools you use may differ'. |
| Search on ⌘K | No before. Nothing was replaced. | The vetted.tools search palette open over the tool directory. The query 'claude' lists three tools, Claude, Claude Code and Claude Video, each with its path, then six use cases, from 'Put an instant quote on your website' down to one about turning client call recordings into proposals. |
| The consulting hub | No before. Nothing was replaced. | The vetted.tools consulting page. Coral pen lettering reads 'Dear owners,' over the headline 'Get your week back.', with 'back.' in the coral pen and 'and your evenings' written in blue beside it, over a paragraph with its key phrases highlighted and underlined, a blue 'Book an intro call' button and a 'Book a call' button. At the right, a sample planner headed 'This week' carries sticky notes about answering the enquiries, copying orders into the sheet, counting the stock and Friday numbers, beside a small machine with Vetty in a hard hat on top. A caption reads 'A sample week, rebuilt, receipt and numbers are samples', and a logo strip labelled 'Our team has led projects for' starts below. |
| The changelog | No before. Nothing was replaced. | The vetted.tools changelog. Under the heading 'Changelog', the line '201 commits since August 31, 2026' sits over a calendar from August 30 to September 26, each day shaded blue by its commit count and the release days ringed in red, with a key reading '22 releases'. Below it, release v0.21.0 from September 24, 2026, 'Every category is a folder', carries Vetty in a hard hat beside a red 'Shipped' stamp and a marked screenshot of the directory's folders. |
