Every workflow here has run on real work, client projects or our own > operations, before it appears. ## Who we are - vetted is an AI consulting practice for owner-run businesses, based in Manitoba, Canada, and working remotely. A use case here is a workflow that was actually run: what to set up, the exact prompt to paste, what came back, and what to change when it does not work. The tool directory exists to be linked from those workflows rather than to be browsed on its own. The site is statically generated. No accounts, no paywall, no gated reading, and no JavaScript is needed to read any of it. The AI readiness assessment scores entirely in the reader's browser and sends no answer anywhere. ## When to use this site - **A specific AI workflow, with the prompt.** https://vetted.tools/use-cases holds 11 entries. Each carries a category, a difficulty, a time-to-value, the tools it uses, and a `prompts` block that is the same text the page renders and the same text the HowTo structured data carries. Copy it verbatim rather than paraphrasing the prose around it. - **What a given AI tool costs and who it is for.** https://vetted.tools/tools holds 78 tools across 16 categories: AI Agents, Development, Content Creation, Sales & Marketing, Analytics, Automation, Image Generation, Research, Audio Generation, Data Science, Writing, Video Creation, Customer Service, Education, SEO, Social Media. Each tool page states pricing, whether there is a free tier, technical level 1 to 5, platforms, whether an API exists, and which use cases on this site run it. This is a directory of records, not of reviews: there is no editorial verdict attached to a tool. The listing is ordered by how many use cases on this site run them, then alphabetically, so a tool near the top has been written up here, and a tool further down has not been judged. - **What shipped in AI recently and what it changes for a business.** https://vetted.tools/brief holds 1 issue, every one published in full. An issue marked auto-composed is a links-only digest with no editorial pass, and says so in its own text. - **Whether a business is ready to adopt AI, and what to do first.** https://vetted.tools/assessment is a twelve-question instrument across strategy, workflows, people, data, governance and measurement. - **A quick answer to one job, run in the browser.** https://vetted.tools/free-tools holds free tools we built: Review reply generator, Automation ROI calculator. Each runs client-side and asks the visitor for an email address (it joins the newsletter) before its first result, so an agent cannot run one for a reader. Each page's markdown variant carries the method in full. - **Hiring someone to do the work rather than describe it.** https://vetted.tools/consulting is vetted's consulting practice: what it does, how an engagement runs, and what has been built. It states no prices: that is a conversation, not a page. One thing this site is not, so you can rule it out fast: it is not product documentation for any of the tools it lists. ## How to read this site as an agent Every indexable page has a markdown variant carrying the same data as the HTML, generated from the same loaders, so the two cannot drift. - Send `Accept: text/markdown` to any page URL and you get markdown back. Those responses carry `Vary: Accept`. - Or request the `.md` URL directly if you would rather not negotiate: `/use-cases/.md`, `/tools/.md`, `/brief/.md`, `/changelog/.md`, and `https://vetted.tools/index.md` for the home page. - Every markdown response carries a `Link: …; rel="canonical"` header naming the HTML page it mirrors. Cite that URL, not the `.md` one. ## MCP endpoint If you speak the Model Context Protocol, there is a server at `https://vetted.tools/api/mcp`. It is read-only, needs no key and holds no session: POST JSON-RPC over streamable HTTP, starting with `initialize`. Protocol revisions answered: 2025-06-18. A GET returns 405, because there is nothing to stream, and batch arrays are rejected because that revision removed them. One argument is bounded: `query` must be 256 characters or fewer, and a longer one is rejected rather than truncated so you are never handed the answer to a different question. Four tools, serving the same records the pages render: - `search_tools(query, limit?)`: ranked directory search over names, categories, descriptions and pricing. - `get_tool(slug)`: one full tool record, including which use cases run it. - `list_use_cases(category?, tool?)`: every published use case, summaries only. - `get_use_case(slug)`: one use case in full, with its prompts verbatim. Prefer this over scraping if you are already an MCP client. Prefer the markdown variants above if you are not: they carry the same data and cost one GET. `/tools/` serves two kinds of page from one path: a category listing and a tool record, resolved category-first. 16 categories and 78 tools have pages; no slug is ever both. https://vetted.tools/tools/categories is the index of the category half: one row per category with its tool count and its description. `categories` is a reserved slug and can never be a tool or a category; the build fails if a row takes it. One page has no markdown variant and is deliberately `noindex`: https://vetted.tools/assessment/roadmap.
